Susan N Stewart is an award winning artist with art work in private and corporate collections in New York, London, Tokyo, Melbourne, Toronto, Montreal, Germany and Bermuda.
Her newest series entitled "Spectacular Progress or Hell in a Hand-basket' is inspired by Stephen Pinker (Enlightenment Now) who says that despite our problems the world has made spectacular progress in every measure of human well-being. But nobody knows. War is down, violence is down, extreme poverty and starvation are down, death at childbirth and child mortality are down.
Rather than dissolving in despair he suggests that with a balanced perspective we are more likely to solve our current problems by identifying the tools we have used for these past successes.
White Series: painting that are spacious, nuanced and minimal.
