Open Studio. Meet Artists. See Art

Flick the Switch Artists' Collective Open Studio

Saturday, June 20 | 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM
34 Stephanie Street, Toronto
Behind the AGO, overlooking Grange Park

Have you ever wondered what really happens behind the doors of artists' studios?

Now's your chance to find out.

For one afternoon only, the artists of Flick the Switch Artists' Collective are throwing open their studio doors and inviting you into their creative world. Wander through four floors of a historic rectory tucked behind the Art Gallery of Ontario and discover a thriving community of painters, sculptors, illustrators, mixed-media artists, and zine-makers hard at work.

This isn't a white-wall gallery where you're afraid to breathe too loudly.

This is the real thing.

Peek into working studios. Ask artists about their techniques, inspirations, happy accidents, and occasional creative disasters. Learn how a blank canvas becomes a painting, how a lump of clay becomes sculpture, or why some artists seem to own more paintbrushes than any reasonable human should.

You may discover:

  • Large-scale contemporary paintings
  • Tiny treasures and affordable originals
  • Sculpture and mixed-media works with recycoled materials
  • Handmade zines and artist books
  • Emerging artists before everyone else discovers them
  • Your new favourite artist

And perhaps the best part?

The artwork is available at ridiculously reasonable, non-gallery prices.

When you buy directly from an artist, more of your money goes to supporting creativity rather than covering gallery commissions. It's a rare opportunity to start—or expand—your art collection without requiring a second mortgage.

Whether you're a seasoned collector, a curious art lover, or simply someone looking for an inspiring Saturday afternoon, you'll find something unexpected around every corner.

Come explore.

Ask questions.

Meet the artists.

Find artwork that makes your heart beat a little faster.

Or simply enjoy getting delightfully lost in four floors of creativity.

Admission is free.

Curiosity is encouraged.

Art purchases are entirely voluntary, though we cannot be held responsible if you fall hopelessly in love with a painting.
